Reina is a Venezuelan experimental particle physicist working at the French National Research Center (CNRS) since 2018 and member of the ATLAS collaboration of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN since 2009.

Reina was an undergraduate student at Universidad de Los Andes, Venezuela. She graduated with a PhD in physics at Université Blaise Pascal, Clermont-Ferrand, France in 2012. She was a postdoctoral research fellow at Université de Genève, Geneva, Switzerland between 2013 and 2015 and at University of Chicago, Illinois, US between 2015 and 2017.

She splits her time between data analysis to understand the smallest components of matter, instrumentation R&D and scientific capacity building programs to build the next generation of scientists in Latin-American. She is an advocate of virtual research and learning communities, as a way to strengthen scientific connections between developed and developing countries and modernize the educational system.
