Jorge Stephany is Professor of Physics at Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB) in
Caracas Venezuela since 1998. There he was previously Associate Professor
(1990-1998). He obtained his bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics at USB
and received his Doctorate in Sciences from Centro Brasilero de Pesquisas
Físicas, Rio de Janeiro in 1989 . Prof. Stephany was post-doctoral fellow at
Pontificia Universidade Católica de Rio de Janeiro (1889-1990) and at CBPF
(1995-1996), Regular Associate at ICTP, Trieste (1996-2004), Visiting Professor
at Warwick University (2003-2004) and Visiting Researcher at Max Planck
Institute for Gravitational Physics, AEI-Potsdam (2010-2011). His work interest
is in Quantum Field Theory, Relativistic Physics and Quantum Mechanics of open
systems. Currently he is Coordinator of the graduate and undergraduate Physics
programs at USB and President of the Sociedad Venezolana de Física.
